Acupuncture can be seen as an alternative way of treating fertility problems.

Hey guys,

I just want to share my thoughts about accupunture. I strongly believe "that acupuncture can be seen as an alternative way of treating fertility problems. It can actually aids in blood flow to the reproductive organs and stabilizes hormone levels. This in turn will increase ovarian function in women as well as sperm production in men. Used as a complementary form of therapy for women undergoing other fertility treatments, acupuncture has been proven to be especially beneficial. Some believe that acupuncture works by helping women stay more relaxed through stressful fertility treatments. In particular, studies have shown that acupuncture definitely increases the rate of pregnancy in women undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF). Furthermore, women who received acupuncture also had lower rates of ectopic pregnancies."
So I am definately trying this for my second round of IVF, it cannot hurt me and it can only help. Just something to think about.

I completely agree with MAR13 recommendation of acupunture with ART.  This was my first attempt at IVF after 2 years of being unable to conceive on my own.  I combined acupunture with my IVF cycle, and was successful the first time.  Tuesday (4/10) my beta was 94 for hcg and 17.4 for progesterone.  I should add that I am going to be 40 years old next month, too, and have no children.  So, I highly highly recommend acupunture in conjunction with ART.  Important note, there are all type of acupunture out there, so, please be sure when looking into different facilities, that the group specializes in fertility acupunture.  This is important to do some pressure points or qi should not be interferred with while attempting to achieve pregnancy.  I live near Chicago, and currently am working with a group called Pulling Down the Moon.  Look them up at www.pullingdownthemoon.com.  They may even be able to help in referring someone in your area.  Good luck, many prayers to all and much much much stickey baby dust!!!!!

Now I'm waiting to start round 2 but really looking into starting acupuncture again.

I've been thinking about it for a few months now.  I just can't seem to find anyone close to me who actually does it without a referral.
