Administering the meds?

Good morning everyone,

This is my first post, I've been reading up on everything I could find here.  I know it's a long shot for me, I'm now 43 years old (no issues other than my age/tubal ligation) my partner is 35.  I had a tubal ligation after my second child never thinking I would be widowed early and want another child down the road.  I go to see my RE on May 27th for my injection teaching, I wasn't nervous until I received and saw the amount of medication involved in the process.  I have been prescribed Follistim, Menopur, HCG, Prednisone, Estradiol, Doxycycline and Endometrium I don't know what all of this is for yet but I'm reading.  Does anyone know whether I will be taking the 4 injections at the same time or during different times during my cycle?  Are there usually any physical restrictions or should we abstain from sex during the process?  I'd appreciate any information on what I can expect.  Thanks.

when i did my ivf cycle i was menopur and brevelle i put all the meds ( 3 of each ) into one shot and took it once a day . Since i was not on as much meds as you i really dont know if your can mix that much together but i know different meds can be mixed ! I started another shot like a week or so later and it was already preloaded and then started taking two a day at the same time some meds may come already loaded and you would have to take multiple shots but its a really small price for hopefully a really good outcome ! GOOD LUCK ! GOD BLESS !

Thank you so much for your input, I'll learn today whether or not I can start the cycle.  It feels almost surreal but, count me in.  Good Luck to you too!

They will give you a schedule of exactly when to take the injections. They vary over the 8-12 days you will be on them. There are restrictions after egg retrieval. They don't want you having intercourse because it can cause OHSS. Also no intercourse after the transfer until the pregnancy test. I know it can be overwhelming! Hang in there! Good luck!
