After IVF Instructions

I am scheduled for an IVF in December and I want to make sure that I am doing everything in my power to ensure successs.  It will be a a fresh cycle transfer and I was wondering what your RE recommended for after the transfer because I've heard a couple of things.

Yeah the clinic told me no perfume ect on day of transfer I said i was going to have a shower before i came and she said to wash with a non scented soap, and a ph balancing shower gel like femfresh down there! I used Dove anyway which is mild with no perfume ect wonder why they tell you that?

I did my 2nd round of IVF in May. It resulted in a BFP and I am currently 26 weeks. I had a ET on Wed I came home and rested/slept all day. Thursday I did the same as well as Friday. Pretty much was a couch potato. I also had OHSS which made me feel like crap, so resting and sleeping was all I wanted to do. I ate alot of protein, and soup! I also ate protein bars and drank Smart water and Gatorade for the electrolytes(this was due to the OHSS), I ate pineapple everyday for 5 days. This included some of the core everyday. I didnt go out til Saturday at which point this was to a friends were we chatted/sat in her kitchen, then I helped her cook dinner and we went to walmart. I returned to work on Monday which I have a desk job. I got my BFP on Thurs which was 8dp3dt
I can tell you stress is a huge factor. My 1st cycle I was a chicken with my head chopped off and rested basically the 1st day only.

Also this is odd but at my clinic they say no perfume, hairspray on the day of the transfer. For you or partner. So I showered the night before the transfer, then til Saturday I only let water clean me. Someone told me this so I did it. Whether any of this worked or not I dont know. But I did none of this with my 1st cycle and it was a BFN

Wishing you the very best of luck and loads of babydust!!!!!

Thank you so much for your help.  My girlfriend was told by her RE that she should be on bed rest for 2 days and then house arrest for another three days.  I don't know if it was because she is using DE or if the dr. is just very conservative.  All the information I read said that there was no information or statistical data that tied into whether or not the IVF would be more successful if bedrest was taken.  This makes me feel better because my ET will happen on the 21st of Dec and didn't want to not be able to go see my family. I'm very excited and I hope that this will be it for us.

With my first IVF cycle, my RE had me rest for 2 days after both the ER and ET.  I switched Drs after this cycle and have had the same RE for my last two cycles.  He said to rest 1 day after the ER, but there's no way I could have gone back to work the next day (I had too much cramping) so I rested 2 days afterwards and then went back to work.  He said to rest for 2 days after the ET and I followed those instructions.  This last time though, I actually went back to usual life and even exercised (whereas I took it REALLY easy during the first two cycles).  This last time was the one that worked, so who know's.  I've heard several different versions of what you should do, but I think it comes down to what you are comfortable doing.

Hoping you have a great first cycle that gives you a BFP!

Hi,
I had my ET sat, My ER was weds i was told to take it easy for the day of the ER and normal activity the day after, For my ET I was home for about 10.30 on the sheet they gave me it says resume to normal life within reason, I asked the nurse the same question as you have and she said some people lie down for a week and some people go to the gym the day after and do light exercise neather have been proven to work better than the other, I personally have resumed to normal life but just taken it a little easier than i would normally.

All the best for you ET
