Hag HSG today...reall need some advice

Hi All,

I am new to this board and I really need some encouragement. Went in today for an HSG. I was told that one of my tubes are blocked. Has anyone gotten pregnant with just one functioning tube??

Thank you all for you kind and encouraging words. I spoke with my doctor today and due to a previous ectopic preg which has caused my right tube to be blocked, she has recommended me to a fertility specialist. She said that I am a high risk for having another ectopic with the working tube and she does not want to put that tube in jeopardy. So I guess I am off to the fertility doctor.

I had one tube blocked w/ scar tissue and dr did a HSG.  After second HSG they were able to push fluid through it and they were able to open it up.  There are quite a few women on here w/ one tube either blocked or completely gone and have gotten pregnant.  Good luck and baby wishes to you.

Many, many women conceive with only one tube. I know of several here. One is on the 35+ forum. Her name is Tankerchic and is pg w/#2.

hey grateful...I havent had that as an inssue..However, I had a a couple friends that did have that issue ..as long as you ovulate then you should be able to conceive. You ovulate on one side at a time and if you have at least one open tube then you have a chance to convceive. Also talk it over with your doctor of course..Wishing Baby dust to you!!

I want you to know I know how you feel.  When I went in for my HSG and found out that my right tube was blocked, I actually started crying while lying there on the table.  However, many, many people get pregnant with one tube on their own!  I was told that it may just take a little longer, since most people rotate sides when they ovulate.  You can also can try clomid/injections and the doctor can monitor you to make sure you will have follicles from the side that is working, and if anything, IVF.  As for me, I am now 25 weeks pregnant with twins!  It may take a little more effort and a little more time, but it is possible!  I hope this helps!  Best of luck to you!
