my body didn't respond to Estrogen - endo thin

Hello,

My dh and me tried first iui in July which end up with BFN...
We were planning to try 2nd iui this month, but my endo lining was only 5.4 to 6.5  on CD 15 (I O in CD16 which is today) so we canceled the IUI. I took clomid so I have 3 mature eggs.

In previous months my endo was 6.7 to 7.2 without estrogen, and with estrogen was 8.2.

I was shocked because this month I took high dose of Progyluton  (estradiol valerate). I have no idea why my body did not respond to estrogen??

Have anyone faced same problem where endo was not responding to estrogen? is changing the drug to estrace or premarine can make a difference?

Please help

Before my transfer (oct 4th), I as on 12mg of estrace a day.  It is generic for estrogen.  It is tablet form, and  I personally have never heard of progesterone helping to build your lining, but maybe others can chime in on that??
Also, you can get your doc to try usinh viagra vaginally.  It helps to build your lining.  I was on 25mg of that a day, but have read that 100mg a day (25mg 4x's a day)  is more of the standard.
I am doing IVF, so it can be done with a thinner lining....  my lining started at 4.8 I think, and at time of transfer it was at 8mm.  This took a few weeks to get to, but it worked.  They had me on lupron until my lining was thick enough... so you can do ivf.

some other ideas are... put a heating pad on your tummy 20 minutes on 20 minutes off for a while.  this increases the blood flow to the uterus, see if you can find the raspberry LEAF tea... this also comes in tablets... I know you can get that off the internet.  Just make sure it's Raspberry LEAF tea... Raspberry tea is not the same.

Do not get discouraged!  This can be done!!!  Have they done a uterine biopsy?  that is just to make sure your uterus is doing what it should be doing.

Good Luck and keep in touch!

Thank you mhv,
my doctor have me progesterone and he said it will enhance the endo, which he also said will make my endo better for next month. I pray for that. with this lining he said most likely iui or ivf may not work :(

I feel every thing is going against my well now :(
I am not using estrace, but Progyluton  (estradiol valerate). my husband and me currently living overseas so they dont have estrace , only  Progyluton  tablet :sss
I know that there are other ways to take estrogen such as cream and patches... but its not available here.

I tried to order it online, but they need prescription from verified dr in the usa. My doc in the usa said he cant give me one now because he have not seen me for while. tooo sad

I am sooo sorry you are having to deal with this issue.  I struggle all of the time with this!  What does of estrace does your doctor have you on? You said a high does, but what was the mg?  Also, how is he having you take them?  Sometimes, if you take them vaginally, it helps more.   Some ladies just have a thinner lining... but clomid does contribute to it.

And, on a Lighter note.... many many women get pregnant with a thinner lining!  So, don't think it is impossible!

Have you thought of acupunture? Another thing you can try is Raspberry LEAF tea.  It helps to tone the uterine lining. But, only take it till ovulation.  You can find this in either the organic section of the grocery store, or at health food stores.

Congratulation on your pregnancy :)
My problem is my eno thickness (around 6.7). I have no problem with O or size of follicle/eggs. I Ovulate on CD16 and the size of egg usually +19.  When doctor gave me estrogen for first time, it affected the size of the eggs and was around 14 only. So next month he gave me clomid + estrogen.. I end up with 3 mature eggs + endo thickness of maximum 8.
I stopped for few months and this month I resume taking the estrogen and clomid. Though I was on high dose of estrogen, my endo did not enhance, and was between (5.8 to 6.4)???!!!!
The doctor put me on progesterone from today CD16.

I have no idea what’s happening.

Hi,

I only had thin endometrium with clomid, even while taking estrogen supplement.  Thin endometrium is a known side effect of clomid.

I then took femara.  I had no problems with this one and am now 9 weeks pregnant.

Hope this helps.
