Acupuncture success stories?

Hello everyone! I just had a my second round of IVF, first FET after the first fresh cycle failed. Unfortunately, the FET didn't work either. My first beta was low and it turned out to be a chemical pregnancy : ( I was very, very sad for a good week and am just now starting to feel better and look toward the future. Becuase our insurance doesn't cover fertility my DH and I have decided to TTC naturally for the next year before starting IVF again. I just turned 29 so I figure I've got a little time plus I need some time off of the roller coaster ride of emotions that comes with IVF. Anyway, my question is....has anyone tried acupuncture and chinese herbs while TTC naturally and had success after failed fertility treatments such as IVF? I have mild endometriosis with unexplained infertility with no male factor. Any inspirational stories would be great! Blessings and baby dust to you all!

Hi there...I am just about to start my first ivf cycle and am definitely going to try acupuncture.  I have read a lot about it and it seems like it is worth it.  However, I do have to agree with kwcann34 about the herbs.  I had a lap back in January and was doing acupuncture and taking herbal supplements.  On the morning of the operation they asked me if I was taking any particular medication and on the form I wrote down herbal supplements.  As a result, they decided that they would not do the operation because they could not know exactly the effects of the herbs.  so, I had to wait two weeks for the lap.  It was quite stressful and since then have not had any herbs.  Due to the money involved in acupuncture (i was having it once a week) I stopped that.  But know that ivf cycle is looming, I am going to recommence it.  I feel that it is money well spent.  So, I wish you all the best with it, just avoid the herbal supplements...Good luck!!

I have heard a lot of great success stories with acupuncture, and have been trying this myself after 3 IVF. The only thing that I would like to bring to anyone's attention that may be considering trying acupuncture with herbs is to be careful what you are taking and pay attention to your body very closely. I just had an ovarian cyst rupture on Sunday, not knowing what had happened I went to my OBGYN yesterday and he did an US and found that this is what it was. He asked if I had been taking any ovulation type meds and I told him herbs that the acupuncturists had given me. He explained that I need to be careful because when you are doing this they are not observing you like the Endo. does when you are taking clomid or follistim. Not to scare you but I just wanted to tell you to be careful. Otherwise, go for it. I have heard a lot of good things about acupuncture and at this point I'm sure you are ready to try anything like me. I wish you the best! Baby dust.
