Charting temps on vacation in different time zone

Hi ladies - next week, my dh and I are going to AZ for a week!! YEA - bring on the sun!!! But my concern is charting my temps -  I take my temp at 6:15 a.m EST everyday - how do I handle the week vacation?  I can't stand the idea of taking it at 3:15 a.m. and I can't imagine that it would be very accurate -

Thanks!!!!

I just got back from Hawaii and temped the whole time. Temp the way you normally would, when you wake up after at least 4hrs sleep. It works the same as at home. If you use a CBEFM, that's another story. You cannot change the time on it.

Oh wow! That is interesting! Had you not had a lower temp earlier this morning, I would have asked you to check the thermometer to make sure it was working right. LOL :-) Not sure if it means anything, but hey, let's hope it does!!!

Thanks Heather - I knew if I waited long enough, someone would tell me what I wanted to hear! HAHAHA ;)

I'll figure something out - this a.m. I woke on my own at 5, so I decided to take it early and make a note (needed to pee bad and knew I couldn't hold it for an hour and 15 minutes) - it read 97.4...I was concerned since that is below my coverline - but sure enough at 6:15, it was 97.8 - right where it has been for the last week!  BTW, this is the first time since starting temping that I have had the same temps for multiple days...NEVER even the same temp two days in a row - think it means anything??

Here's my chart - http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/1ee49d

I'll say it! Take it at the same time you usually do (at 6:15). No need to have the alarm go off in the middle of the night :-)

...although, if your body clock is waking you up at an earlier time, just temp then and make a note of it on your chart.

I went to Norway a few months back (7-hour time difference) and just continued to take it at my regular time (although I skipped the first day because of jetlag and not being very well rested). Didn't make a difference at all on my chart.

Have a great trip!

Thanks so much Lisa! It does seem like I have been pregnant forever! I am so ready to meet him that it isn't funny! The only scary thing is.. Scott is now working back in Columbus during the week so it would take him 2 hours to get back home if something happens.. EEK! He is planning on taking some time off towards the end but who know exactly when the end is going to be with all these contractions I have been having! He calls several times a day asking if we are okay..ahaha..

You could be like me.. Scott and I went to Canada for Vacation and that's where we conceived! Could be a trip to "some other place" that might be the trick to getting your BFP! Good Luck to you!! Lots of hugs and Super Duper Extra Sticky Baby Dust to you!!

and the temping.. I wish it were that easy that you could take it at the same time as you had been.. but it has something to do with your resting temp.. now if you just want to be lazy and sit on your fanny for like hours and hours.. well now....that just might work.... hehehe

Good Luck to you.. and Have fun.. I would LOVEEEEEEEE to go somewhere warm!!

Hi Patty -

I tried sending you a 'note' three times and it wouldn't take it - humph! :P  I just can't believe that you are at 34 weeks - it seems like just yesterday! Probably not so much for you, eh? :) I am sending you the biggest bestest mostest hugs and good thoughts and smiles and well...just everything!!

As for the temps, I really thought that someone would say that I could just take them at 6:15, no matter what the time zone!!  Dangit!!  It's been so long since I have traveled out of the EST that I am not sure how my body will react, to be honest! (Which is pathetic in and of itself!)  It USED to be (back in my young and wild days) that the time zones didn't affect me much - if typically awoke at 6 in AZ (where I lived for awhile), when I came back to Ohio to visit, I would still wake at 6 - my Dad does the same thing, which I know is odd, but hey - I never said I was normal!! :)

Well, on a prayer and a wing, maybe I'll get my BFP this month and won't have to temp out there anyway - I am seriously thinking of testing tmw to just be able to know one way or the other, which really isn't like me...but with the vaca coming up...we'll see!!

Good luck with everything!!!

Okay.. I am driving up to Columbus and coming with you! I will make sure you get up to take  your temps... hehehe Free vacation for a little sacrifice??.. I can handle that! .. Ohio's weather has me wanting to go somewhere.. anywhere...lol

on a Serious note though.. It shouldn't be hard the first couple days given the fact that you will still be in this time zone mentally?? I mean I think.. sounds logical to me anyways. Maybe if you have a thermometer that keeps the last temp it wouldn't be so bad? Just don't fall back to sleep with it in your mouth! EEK!

Hope you figure something out and HAVE FUN.. remember us stuck back in Ohio!!...hehehe

Just take your bbt same time as you are in EST.

When i was on vacation in California, I usually took my bbt at 6:20am.  when i was out there, I took my bbt at 4:20am.

good luck and enjoy your vacation.
