DH's s/a Results Are In

The clinic has used Kruger's Strict Criteria for the analysis.  3 out of the 4 thing came back in the normal range.

Volume = 4.6 (normal is 2.0 - 10.0)
Concentration = 100.8 (normal is 20.0 - 500.0)
Motility = 81.0 (normal is 50.0 - 100.0)
Morphology 10.0 (normal is 14.0 - 100.0)

So the down side is his morphology.  The normal range starts at 14.0.  Is there any hope for us at 10% morphology.  I know that "they" say it only takes one sperm to reach the egg, but I have been getting rather down lately.  Is there anything that I can do to help his morphology?  Should we be concerned about the frequency of BD?

Any help or hope would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you everybody.  I feel like I have all of my bases covered, but just wanted to make sure.

scienceteacher - I really haven't given DH too much of a choice.  I bought a ton of boxers for his birthday and told him he couldn't wear any of his others.  He said it took a couple days to get used to and now he is just fine with them.  He was switching over from boxer briefs, so not too much of a differance.  Can you at least get your DH in boxer briefs?

texasangel - I know exactly how you feel.  There is just a tiny part of me that wishes we could find something wrong so that we can fix it.  But, to the best of my knowledge, all of our tests are done and everything but the small issue of morphology has come back just fine.

The one and only last thing that I can think of is the quality of my CM.  I have been taking EPO to help and this cycle I took Mucinex.  Even so I only had one day of EWCM and it was just a tiny bit.

Keep DH on his meds and boxers (mine is refusing to wear boxers! Been fighting for two years about that!!) and it will happen! :)

those results look great!!! we also used kruger strict analysis as well, and our morphology was only 2%!!! we were told that IVF with ICSI was the only way.. and that no vitamins would help with morphology (this was a well known fertility urologist telling us this) we repeated several SA's  and they all came back the same 2%.. now in addition to all my "issues" we had to deal with this.. my RE though had seen IUI work with morph of 2%, so even though i was working with one ovary and many other issues, he wanted us to try! and sure enough it worked (3 times actually - i also have an issue with staying pregnant it turned out! found a clotting disorder though ) so the biggest shock a month ago when we found out we were pregnant on our own! naturally! with a 2% morphology and no help! couldn't believe it!
   so after we were told only IVF with ICSI was our only hope, turns out miracles happen! so I hope that gives you hope with a great looking 10% compared!: )    i did have my hubby take 1000mg of vitamin C and a multivitamin just in hopes it might help!: )   GOOD LUCK!

this is great news! i am so glad you called early to get the results!  i think you are doing a great job with the vitamins.  they look good - still call your doc and ask if there is anything else he should be taking.

on the other hand...doesn't it make your heart sink a little that there isn't a problem with him?  i wished there was something wrong with my dh so it wasn't me...at least it could be fixed a little easier!  

but this will work out!!  just another week or so to go =)

First let me say that I am happy that you decided to stick with MH.  I saw all the turmoil and I think that you are much too valuable of a member to leave!

DH works in catering.  He does deliveries all day.  I currently have him on the following vitamins:

Men's One a Day
1000mg of Vitamin C
800 mg of Folic Acid
500mg of L-Carnitine
500mg of Arginine

The Carnitine and Arginine are the most recent additions.  He started those two last month and according to my research they are supposed to help with morphology.  The others he has been on for about 4 months.  I also switched him over to boxers last month.  He has been a real trooper about taking his vitamins.  Not every single day, but about 9 times out of 10.  I know that it takes abouat 3 months for the sperm to fully develop, so I am hoping that the Carnitine and Arginine kick in some time soon.

Take to your doc about multivitamins and other ways to help morph. If he works in an environment that could be messing his little guys up - they can recommend specific vitamins. My DH works around fumes, dust and machinery and my doc told him to take specific vitamins (but he doesn't - ugh :)
