Day 4 levels

Hi
I'm a 39 year old female. I went to get my fertility checked out last week. I had an antral follicle count and bloods on day 4. The antral count said I had 9 follicles on left and 3 on the right. Bloods were done for FSH, LH and prolactin.

The results were as follows-
FSH 7.1 IU/l (2.0-10.0)
LH  10.1 IU/l (2.0-12)
Prolactin 418 mIU/l (100-500)

I'm a bit worried about the LH and Prolactin levels- they seem a bit off for day 4? My consultation isn't until end of September and I was hoping you could decipher what it may mean or if it's normal. Unfortunately I'm with a partner who is still 'thinking about it' and I think things may not be in my favour (apart from my age)!

Many thanks

Hi there, thanks for that! Yes I'm going to track down secretary if I can today and see if she can push me forward. It could be hard as list is chocca but worth a go.

Well, let's see... Your antral follicle count and FSH is definitely good for your age, but you're right, your LH is somewhat elevated (should be 7 or under), and your prolactin is high (normal is under 24). I have a feeling your doctor will suggest you start taking some medication to lower your prolactin levels. Is there any way that you can get an earlier appointment, so you won't have to wait that long?
