Embryo Freezing

I was wondering if anyone had any embryos frozen?? I had retrieval on Oct 24 - got 9 eggs, and 6 fertilized by day 3. Did PGD testing and only got reults on 2 - both normal. The other were unable to be tested, but were developing nicely. We froze the absolute perfect one - a boy "textbook perfect". The identified girl was not doing as well, so they watched her to see if she would grow more for freezing. The other 4 were better quality than she was, and we transferred the best of that bunch on Oct 29, and were planning to freeze the remaining 3. We got a call that only the boy was able tobe frozen. Why would that be when they had previosl told me that the 3 embryos looked great, but on Day 6 they were not viable enough to be frozen??? I do not get it, and they did not seem to forthright with the info so I thought I'd see here if anyone had a similar situation or would be able to tell me why.
Thanks so much..

I agree - it's rare to have frozen embryos - I was fortunate to have 11 of them but only because we used donor eggs.  I wish I could tell you why - even though the quality of the embryo is high is no guarantee that it'll survive the freezing process.  I hope this helps & I would definitely ask your re & embryologist these questions - much luck to you and SSBD!!

Unfortunately, it's quite rare to have frozen embryos.  Of the 9 embryos we had, none made it to freezing.  I know how expensive and emotionally involving ivf is and we also were hoping for some frozen ones.  I am sorry you can't have more embryos frozen.

Good luck to you on your beta!!
