I haven't had a period also since 3 years ago after coming off the contraceptive pill, although before going on the pill everything was normal. I'm seeing my doctor at the end of the month so hoping she will move me onto the next step. Keep me updated with your results.
Hi, I have taken five rounds of clomid without ovulating and I also take meds to have AF. Has your doctor checked to see if you have pcos? That is what i have it's symptoms are absent or irregular period, anovulation, cysts in your ovaries, most women are over weight (I am normal), Some have excessive hair growth and acne. Also many women with pcos have elevated insulin and/or testosterone levels (again mine were normal) which stops you from ovulating. It is an endocrine disorder so most insurances cover diagnoses which is bloodwork AND an ultrasound, make sure they do an ultrasound as i stated my bloodwork is normal but i had almost 100 cysts after my 3rd round of clomid. Oh and if you do have pcos clomis is not a good drug for you, you would need to take femara instead. And if you are diagnosed see a reproductive endocrinologist, i cannot stress that enough i wasted a year with my obgyn who told me she knew how to treat pcos. My RE said my previous treatment is why my cysts grew so fast! Good luck I hope you did ovulate, I am here if you need to talk, this month it will be 3 years ttc for us.
Thanks a bunch for the info. I never get my period so i also take provera to bleed whitch sux cause i never know if it worked or im pregnant. Please lets keep updated with each other ill find out 2morro if i ovulated.
Hello, it seems that you are in a very similar position to me, I am just starting my 5th time on chlomid now at 150mg for the third time, didn't respond to 50 or 100 then finally ovulated last month after 2nd round of 150mg however I ovulated day 14 and then my period came on cd19 (don't think this is normal) it's the most frustrating thing I've been through in my life so I know how you feel. Keep me posted. I'm also very interested to know what comes next.
If you are not responding to 150mg of Clomid it is unlikely that u will respond at all. Many doctors then suggest IUI with injectables to get things moving along. Did you have any scans to see if your follicles are responding? If so and they are failing to release many docs will give you a trigger shot to ensure that an egg releases.
Thanks for responding. My doctor said to keep on clomid as for my insurance they barely cover anything for this. What are the injectables and how they work? Just curious as to what the next options are
I just started Clomid, but have heard there are other options. There is Femara which is like Clomid. There are also injectables like Follistem. Are you working with a fertility specialist? I would recommend you check into it if your insurance covers it. Hope this helps.
