How many cycles of clomid before pregnancy?

About a year and a half ago, I was diagnosed with PCOS and endo after a laparoscopy.  I had been trying to conceive for a few years before being diagnosed.  I was sent to an infertility doctor who performed blood tests and physical for both my husband and I.  My husband came through his tests with flying colors so the 'problem' lies with me.  My blood test came back as insulin resistance (PCOS) and higher male hormones.  I was prescribed danazol to help with the endo for four months and then moved on to begin clomid combined with a hcG injection for ovulation.  I have just completed my second cycle of clomid (50mg on days 5-9) and just got my period (not pregnant).  I will be honest and say that I am frustrated as I have been trying to get pregnant for years.  Anyway, how many cycles of clomid on average produce a pregnancy?  I was told by my doctor that most women get pregnant in the first 3-6 cycles but I also was told that clomid increases your chances for ovarian cancer.  Also, is it possible that taking the danazol for four months would lower my chances of getting pregnant?  I would really appreciate any information or opinions given and thank you for allowing me to post on this forum.

Booyah,

with pcos and endo I strongly suggest you try a low dose of injectables + ovidrel.
clomid is not good for CM. I also suggest not to try more than 3 times clomid.

Please let me know when you performed the laparoscopy and its results.

We tried 5 cycles. I was ovulating but no pregnancy. Then we went to IVF but that may have been due to my age. Good Luck.

I'm already on my 5th cycle using clomid and I haven't gotten pregnant yet. I think after this I am going to go off of it for a month or two and try injectibles.

Basically with every cycle of clomit that doesn't work the next dose is a higher dose.Maybe 50 is not good for you so maybe your doctor should go on a higher dose. I never ovulated with clomit alone i did for 6 cycles. Then i got pregnant 3 times using clomit+injectables. Don't stay on clomit for a long time. Good luck
