How soon can you get pregnant after removal of mirena coil?

Hi, I had my Mirena coil taken out on 30th sep, 12 days ago and i was wondering how long after would it be that i could possibly become pregnant?? My period was  ment to start on the 7th oct but it hasnt, is this due to the removel of the coil or is there a chance i could be pregnant??

i had my mirena out 3 and a half weeks now n i had some problems after i had a sick tummy and my skin broke out and i had cravings for sugary tings i was worried them weeks to when id get my period cos of all the stories i read i had my mirena in for 3 and a half years and after 6 months had no periods just occational spotting but funny a week before i got it out i had a period so i went on that to calcute my cycle anyways yes you can get pregnant before period arrives back my doctor warned me of this when i got it removed and that 2/3s of women will get there period as normal after removal because they would have been ovulating and for the other 1/3 who werent ovulating with mirena will start from removal and should expect there period after 35-40 days give your body to ovulate. i hope this helps im guessing your ttc also?

li_sa: last period was 9th feb. Went to doctors today, taken blood for earlypregnancy hormone and gonna take more bloods 21 days after my next AF if it comes to check Im ovulating as I dont know that i am. I am so sorry your AF came again. Some of the women are talking about taking VITEX which is supposed to regulate your period and more chance to conceive. I ordered mine and it came today. Will start it on first day of AF. It wasnt that expensive and its herbal. I got 100 capsules for $4.89. Good luck.

25nmumof1: Good luck ttc, I hope it happens quickly for you.

mina0618: The first month after I had mirena removed I really thought I was pregnant, it turned out to be a side effect of the removal. I had nausea, fatigue, hightened sense of smell, the works, and I wasnt obviously. Im not saying your definately not, Im just saying it ca be confused. Give it tie for your cycle to regulate.

Good luck to all the women ttc xx

Until now I really thought AF was not coming tomorrow, started getting that dull ache like AF on the way. I knew it was to good to be true, even the cramping in my legs started. Hate Mirena! Actuallyin the family planning clinic on Tuesday night I heard two women saying about going in for coil, I told tem about all about the hassles us women have been having and they changed there mind. Its worth remembering to use a condom, rather than have future plans ruined. Ill let you know the outcome of my cramps................... though I think I know myself, BFN!!
