How to begin adoption letter

As some of you know, we are going through the initial steps of the adoption process... It is coming close the time to write the "letter" to the birthparents... For those who don't know, we are basically going to write a letter to the birthparents saying how courageous they are, and thanking them for choosing life...  Okay - here is my question - we know what to write in the body of the letter, BUT, I want the first sentence to be a real catcher - not the basic, "thank you for looking at our profile" or "we are the _____ family"... So, I was wondering if any of you had any advice?

THANK YOU!!!

P.S. Gonna post this on the maternal forum also

Be honest: Try something along the lines of

"As we sit here thinking of what to write to you, our hearts are full of hope. Hope that we can be the best parents. Hope that we will be chosen to be parents to a beautiful baby who needs us." Etc. Be honest. Let them see you and what you ahve been through. Let them know how much it means to you. Let them hear it in your words how much you would love this child. Tell them a little about you and DH, a funny story maybe,  and what makes you the best choice. Don't worry about making them like you, be honest and let the reader know you.

Hope this helps.

Where are you going to adopt from?  I wish I could give you help with the letter but I'm not much of a writer.  Good luck!
