Husband has sore throat should we postpone IUI?

My husband has sore throat and light fever from 1 week. Now there is no fever but he stilll has light soreness and light cough. I am going to meet with my RE to discuss next plan and mostly we r planning to go for an IUI cycle. My concern is when there is infection in the body there is a chance of white blood cells in the semen which may affect sperm. Will it reduce the sperm count? will the sperm count be low after sperm wash for IUI? Please let me knw if we should wait for him to feel healthy.

hey as I gave more thought into it, what u told is a bit confusing. If u go by the 90 day concept it shd also mean that after 90 days from today his sperm would hv white cells!!! i dont think thats possible. What I think is white cells are found more in both blood and sperm when the person has infections in his body at that moment itself and they go away soon after the infection is cleared up. Anywz since the sperm is washed before IUI I think its ok. Lets see wht doc says...

It actually takes around 90 days from the time a man produces sperm until it is matured and ready to be "released",  so I think you should be fine : )   I would Go For It!  But, you can always check with your RE to double check.

Good luck and baby dust!
