46 and wants a baby

I am 46 years and 8 years ago had an ectopic pregnancy.  Never had to remove my tubes..one tube is partially blocked the other one is unblocked.  I had one failed artificial insermination and one failed IVF.  I am going thru a divorce so i haven't to ttc for the past 3 years.  But will be marrying the true love of my life in a few months and will like to ttc.  I am unemployed therefore no money for ivf's.  Have been doing my homework and planning on purchasing a good ovulation kit and ordering Vitex which i read is an herbal supplement similar to Clomid.  So would like to meet other women who are in a similar situation to mine.  Looking forward to hearing from you.

We can definitely be buddies :) And I don't think it matters when you start the vitex. I started it a week after my cycle, when we saw our last specialist who gave us a 6% chance of getting pregnant. We proved him wrong :) We'll send prayers your way and hopefully even a 2 for 1 deal with twins will soon be in your future!! :)

Thank you Momma2be..   i love hearing stories like yours.  I do have faith I will have my bundle of love.  Maybe even two?? I have read that is a risk for women in their forty's to have multiples.  I would love twins, my future hubby will probably have a heart attack.   Anyway it's all in God's hands.  Maybe you and I can be buddies here.  :)

P.S.  Is it too soon to get started on Vitex now?

My hubby and I went through almost 3 years of infertility treatments and testing...Vitex Fruit gave us our little miracle. I had only taken it for 3 weeks when it worked. Since then, I have recommened Vitex to 2 close friends, one with PCOS, both are now pregnant after only taking it 2-3 months. I try to share the success of Vitex with everyone I know who is TTC because it definitely works. Good luck and great choice for the Vitex.

my ectopic pregnancy happened so many years ago that to be honest it was so traumatic for me that i really don't recall if they told me the cause of it.  I am only about ten pounds overweight...i don't smoke and only drink socially.  Maybe a glass of wine a month.

What was the cause of your ectopic pregnancy? Any information shared by your doctor on the cause of tubal blockage? You still have one tube unblocked so there are chances that you can conceive. After marriage you can try having sex during ovulation days. The chances of conception are highest during this time. Ovulation predictor kits can help in detecting when you are ovulating. The chances of conceiving and delivering a healthy baby depend on several factors .As a woman starts aging the quality of egg dimishes.Take care of other factors which may affect fertility like if you are overweight lose weight.
