Ovidrel and Positive OPK
First time using this site. My fertility cycle is Metformin (2x daily=1,000mg) and Clomid (2x daily=100mg). Each cycle my eggs are checked by ultrasound between CD12-CD14 to determine IF I will Ovulate that month or not. After several months of small follicles (but lots of eggs) and NO Ovulation we now have sizes ranging from 12-14. I was instructed on a Monday to take Ovidrel injection on Wed. ( simple/painless/stomach). In the meantime, Mon-Wed I would double check by taking OPK's. Wed I would inject @ 6pm. Mon, Tue, and Wed. morning ALL OPK were NEG. Thurs. morning the day AFTER injection it was positive, but it's still positive and now it's Friday. Should I still be getting positives? The office said it takes 36hrs. to force Ovulation and I was instructed to have sex Thurs. and Friday. Is it possible to continue getting positives with Ovidrel? And one last question what is the most SAFEST number of days to wait to take a home pregnancy test because I heard about false positives. 10 days or longer?
Any information would be appreciated.

Like journey said, the ovidrel shot will actually cause the OPKs to be positive, since HCG is structurally very similar to LH. So in general, once you've taken the trigger, there's no need to keep using OPKs. As for the pregnancy test, if you want to be safe, you should wait until your period is late...but of course, most of us are not that patient :-) I'd say, wait until you're at least 12 dpo, which means about 13-14 days after taking the ovidrel shot. I was told that after taking the trigger it would be + because it searches for the same thing. I really can't explain it. But they said the preggo home in the trigger shows pos like the lh. Does that make any sense to you. Maybe you should bd the weekend to cover all ends. Good luck. SSBD:D
