Losing weight while TTC

I want to lose some weight in hope it will regulate my cycle a bit and maybe help me ovulate a little more regularly. When I usually diet I am a calorie counter, it is the only thing that keeps me on track. I read that it isn't good to have too aggressive a diet when TTC though, so I am afraid of doing more harm than good. Has anyone else been in this position? What is a good amount of exercise and calorie intake without over doing it?

I'm doing my first IUI next month and I recently cut out pepsi and I'm trying to eat better. My RE told me walk. So, I'm going to try and start walking every night.

The times I have conceived, I was on major diets. There is a lot behind weight and trouble ttc. I read a lot about it several yrs ago, but don't remember all of the medical facts verbatim. I do know it has a lot to due with estrogen and storage in the fat cells. It is more difficult for an overweight woman to conceive.

You will know you are pregnant long b4 it would have any effects of dieting would affect the baby. I would stay away from any diet pills or medications, though. They are a definite no-no.

I am currently trying to lose some weight to see if it helps me again, too. I was about 20# lighter the last time I got pg. Good luck!
