Menstrual Cycle after Hysterocope and DNC

I had a Hysterocope and DNC done and my first menstrual cycle after the procedure has lasted for almost 3 weeks now.  I'm on birth control because we were going to try IVF this month but it looks like that's not going to happen now because we can't find a medical lab covered through my insurance.  I called my fertility doc and they said this was normal and not to come in.  I'm really concerned and wonder if I should get a second opinion.

I am not sure.  I think women bleed different amounts of times after a dnc.  But, I don't think the birthcontrol would make you bleed.  That is confusing to me.  I don't know why they would put you on birth control after a dnc/hysteroscopy before you quit bleeding.
I think maybe you should get a second opinion....

My main question is - my period has lasted for almost 3 weeks after having the Hysterocope and DNC.  The explanation from my doc's office was that it's because of the birth control I'm on.  I'm wondering if maybe I should ask for a second opinion or if this is truly normal.

Sorry, I'm not sure I understand your question.  Are you saying your af has lasted for 3 wks on even though your on birth control, and your RE is saying that isn't normal?  Or are you saying you can't find a lab that is covered by your insurance so your RE cancelled your cycle?  Is the lab for bloodwork?  Or a lab for them embryos?
