Hi. I'm 25, had polisystic ovaries since I was 17. Hardly ever have periods ,maybe 2 a year. Had ovrian drilling last march as we are trying for a baby! Stil no periods after my op! Then in November last year my gyno put me on metiformin 500mg x2 ! I had 2 normal periods and the end of February they stopped? Negative pregnancy test! Confused!!!

Delayed periods in your case is due to PCOS. One of the most effective treatments for ovarian cysts is use of contraceptive pills or progesterone pills. It can also be treated surgically and this procedure is known as drilling. Other modes of treatment are laparoscopic surgery, laparotomy or surgery for complicated ovarian cysts.

Insert NuvaRing in the vagina and keep it in place for three weeks in a row. Remove it for a one-week break and then insert a new ring. During the one-week break, you will usually have your menstrual period. If you are having bleeding during the three weeks period then it can be due to breakthrough bleeding.
