Unable to perform HSG Test

Hello,

I am new here and wanted to share my story and see if anyone had similar experience.
We are TTC and my doctor asked me to go get HSG testing at a local hospital.
I went in for the procedure thing morning  and the Radiology doctor ( again he was a doctor not technician) tried to put the dye up but wasn't successfully. Therefore my test was incomplete.
I am not sure it it was his lack of skills or something is wrong with me. I am very worried right now and wanted to see if anyone else had this issue where before even seeing if your tube is block they can't even put the dye up to the tube. Any insight will be grateful. I have appointment with my doctor and she said she will perform a water ultra sound what ever that means.

Hi! Sounds like the doctor just had a hard time getting the catheter in through the cervix. I've had both an HSG and also a few IUIs, and it usually takes a little while for my RE to get the catheter in. You might just have a cervix that leans to one side or that's not all the way straight. If so, that in itself should not be an issue when TTC...but it could make it a bit harder to get the catheter in for procedures like IUIs and HSGs. From what I've heard a water ultrasound is similar to an HSG. Best of luck to you!

Hi there - firstly i am so sorry about the stress you must be feeling right now. Just to clarify, did he manage to get the tube in? Were your legs in strirrups. I find it strange that the doctor would consider it incomplete. Just from what you have said I would think it was inexperience. He should have no issues inserting the dye.
