Opened follistim cartridge

I'm about to start my 3rd IVF cycle, and insurance hasn't covered a thing. So I have 2 questions about ways to save..1. Can I use my opened Follistim from late Aug (past the 28 recommended days)? 2. I have been offered a 600iu cartridge from someone at the same clinic, that has had 75iu used. Are either of these options safe?

Thanks bny807, I spoke with a nurse at my clinic. She felt the risk would be minimal, for using someone else's opened cartridge, but the risk was there nonetheless. So I didn't take it.

humm... its such a big investment (IVF that is ) that it would worry me to possibly use ineffective meds.. however.. i thought if the follistim was in the fridge that it would be ok for three months (but i may be totally wrong on that).. I would just hate for you to use something that didnt' work and the expensive, emotional investment of IVF not work as well as it absolutely can!    GOOD LUCK! : )
