I've been ttc for 18 months.  I've been seeing a RE for 5 months now.  Good luck ttc.  If you're going to use clomid and are worried about your cm, you might want to check out Pre-Seed. I've heard and read many great reviews about it.

I took clomid for two months.  I have PCOS as well.  I didn't respond the first month.  There was one egg the second month.   My doctor switch me to femara and I had 4 eggs this month.  I have one week to wait for a PG test.  I recommend femara.

I'm also taking metformin, though I haven't been diagnosed with PCOS.  Doc said it would help with the lining of my uterus.  We tried 3 cycles of clomid and IUIs.  No success.  Clomid gave me hot flashes and may have made my cervical mucus hostile.  This cycle, I took femara and had IUIs (in 2ww).  I didn't have hot flashes, but my progesterone level went down slightly when tested on CD 19, compared to when I was on clomid.  On clomid my progesterone was about 18 for 3 cycles, on femara my progesterone was 15.  I'm thinking that if you're going to have IUIs, it might not make a difference which one you take.  But if you're going to try it the old-fashioned way, maybe femara would be better.
