please help me

Please anybody out there who has any advice for me. I want to know how things work i took chlomid days 5-9 and did a trigger shot this past monday. This was all followed up with an ultrasound showing two mature follies 22 and 23  big.
Since my surge was monday along with my trigger shot, what day should i ovulate? how often should we be having intercourse? and when should i wxpect the window of opportunity to close ( meaning that it's past the time of my egg hanging around). We had relations monday, tuesday and wednesday. Should we continue or is thid enough? My husband has a very high sperm count. Please help me out with all of your wisdom.. Could we be looking at twins?

Yeah, the trigger shot could give you a false positive if you test too early, but it should be out of your system in about 10 days. I would probably wait a little bit longer to test, though, since 10 days after trigger is only about 8-9 days after ovulation, which is very early. Most women have to wait much longer than that before they get a positive pregnancy test. I would say the earliest you'd want to test is 12 days after ovulation, so about 2 weeks after the trigger...and even then you could easily get a false negative. Of course, ideally you should wait until your period is late...but most of us on here do not have the patience to wait that long ;-) best of luck!

Hi,

You can wait for 10 to 12 days from your trigger shot and then you can do a HPT. Please follow it up with blood work.

Didn't see usuk's post until after I posted, but she's righ...even though the official life span is 12-24 hours...it's probably closer to 12 in most cases.

No problem! Sometimes it does get a little slow on here at night (and on weekends, too), so if you don't get an answer, just try posting again ;-)

As for the egg, it usually lives between 12 and 24 hours, so most probably you already covered your fertile time...but if you're up for it, it wouldn't hurt to do one more night...just in case.

agree with 36 hours. eggs do not live long at all. around 8-12 hrs i think. sperm lives longer almost 72 hours so a BD once a night covers you. good luck.

Ovulation usually happens about 36 hours after the trigger shot. In general, they advice you to have intercourse, the day of the trigger as well as the following two nights, which you did. It wouldn't hurt to BD again tonight, though...just in case...but it sounds like you already got things covered! Good luck this month!
