Tina - question about progesterone levels

Hi Tina - I think I remember you saying that you have had multiple BFPs and I am hoping that you can help me out with something that has really been bothering me...

I had my one and only BFP in Jan. 07 (ended with blighted ovum)...my O+7 progesterone test was 58.7 (a good indicator to the nurse that I was indeed preggers).  I know every woman gets different numbers for progesterone with positive results, but my question is can the same woman get extremely different numbers for different pregnancies?? I am wondering if I am always out of the game as soon as I get my O+7 tests and they aren't that high??

Do you see where I am getting at? :) I don't know that it makes much sense in print!! :)

Thanks for your help...

HAHA - Everything is causing me to obsess these days!  I bounce back and forth between sobs of "I'm not pregnant again" to elation of "I think it worked this month!" - these twws are just no fun anymore!!! :) (Not that they every were!!)

If you get a chance, could you glance at my post regarding the 7DPO test results - the DHEA and testosterone levels are foreign to me and I don't really know what it means (as a big picture!!)

Thanks, Tina!  Have a great day!!

Before pregnancy:  1 to 28 ng/ml

Conception to 12 weeks:  9 to 47 ng/ml

12 to 28 weeks:  17 to 146 ng/ml

28 weeks till birth:  55 to 200 ng/ml

This chart will probably give you more reason to obsess :)  As you can see, pregnant and non pregnant levels are very similar during the 1st trimester.

Thanks! I will admit that I am obsessing this time!  Lately, I have 'known' right away that it didn't work, but there was definitely a different feeling this month and now it's messing with me!!

My 3dpo prog. was 5.8 and my 5dpo was 12.7.  I will get today's (7dpo) results tmw but I just wanted to make sure that I still had a shot at a BFP, even though it's not as high as it was when I did get my BFP! :)

Thanks for the quick reply!

Absolutely! Every pregnancy is different. The numbers can be different as well. Progesterone can indeed be a good indicator of a possible pregnancy. But, only that. An "indicator". There are many women here that had through the roof progesterone and no pg. Then there are those that thought there was no chance of pregnancy due to lower #'s of progesterone and they were pg. The progesterone just hadn't shot up yet. I know where your head is, lol. Don't worry about the progesterone just yet. Basically, the main thing it tells you at that point is whether or not you o'd :)
