Most likely 2 marro your Dr. will just gather alot of info about you and your partner, he will ask alot of questions about your cycles. Have you done any ovulation monitoring? OPK, or BBT? He will want at least a full cycle of that charted for him. Depending on what cd you are he probly wont do much 2marro, I saw mine on the 31st, and we just talked and scheduled a few tests for later in the cycle, along with all of the above mentioned reference material, If you have been doing it take your record with you. I go CD12 for u/s to check follicle size. No meds yet my doc. want all the info, and to try to dx me first, if no BFP this month,we will do a HSG to test for tubal blockage. If thats all clear we will start clomid next cycle. It is a LONG road, be patient and do things the right way, it will pay off in the end! GOOD LUCK:)
PS> IVF is a last resort. And YES the injections are like thousands not hundreds of dollars!! Hope and pray you have good insurans, I do and it is still very expensive.

Some of them are , and some are not. Depends on the program your Dr has you on. It all depends on your diagnosis on why you are not getting PG. Clomid might help you, but then again it all depends on what they find when they do your tests. I wish I had more awnsers to you, I know how confusing it all can be, but realy w/o knowing why your not getting PG it is hard to say what your DR will decide. You may just need IUI, or maybe not even that.

Ok, well they can give you reasons why they think you are not getting PH, but they will have to do tests to give you an exact reason. AS for IVF, It is when they give you drugs to stimulate your ovaries to make extra eggs and then they go in and take the eggs. They take your DH's or DP's sperm and insert it in teh eggs and watch them to see which ones produce best. Then they take the better embryos and place them back into your uterus and see if they implant. There is so much to it as far as details. But that is the just of it. I have been through it twice and have gotten PG both times. Also, cost verys but plan to spend around $10,000 or so. Clinics do have ways to help you pay for it. You can do a shared risk program, donate eggs if you qualify, or there are also ways to finance it. If your Dr feels liek IVF is the way to go for you, then they will discuss all those options w/ you. AS for it being the last resort, it usualy is because of the cost and everything involved. There are other things they can try also. They usualy do try Clomid or other drugs first. GOOD LUCK

They may be able to do some tests (like an ultrasound) and see something. But if what may be wrong is not something you can see (like hormones etc), then they may not be able to tell you something until other tests are scheduled. The other tests usually have to be done on specific days of your cycle. So, yes they MIGHT be able to tell you or they MIGHT not.

IVF is where they extract your eggs (after lots of shots and lots of ultrasounds), mix them with your significant others sperm, get them to grow in a dish for a few days, and then put the good ones back in your uterus. Yes, it is very expensive, especially if your insurance doesn't cover anything. Looking at around $10,000 to 16,000. Depending what may be wrong, it can be a last resort for most people. It is sometimes the only chance for people with serious problems.

Depending on what is wrong(if anything), you may try clomid first (pill to get more eggies out), then maybe shots (to pump up egg production), and then usually IUI (squirting sperm in the uterus like a turkey baster) and then IVF. Thats the usual pathway for most people.

Good luck!
