PUREGON

I'm just wondering, has anyone used 'out of date' puregon before?  I opened a new cartridge on August 12, but only used one dose, as I had over-responded, growing too many follies.  There is still about 325iu in the cartridge.  It's in the fridge, and my RE told me the other day I could use it for my next cycle.  It will be by then about 40 days since it was opened.  Two of the nurses told me I shouldn't use it, and I was just wondering, if anyone has any ideas here?

Hey, thanks for that!!  The way I figure it, once I start the injections, I go for a blood test five days later, and if it hasn't increased much, then maybe it's no good.  But I'm sure it will be.  They have to say only 30 days or so, to comply with the instructions and all, but my doc asked if it was in the fridge, and he said yes, to use it.  So, I'm all ready to start in a couple of weeks!!!  I'm praying third cycle lucky, third baby lucky!!

I THINK its fine!  I was told by a freedom fertility rep that the meds stay good for 90 days in the fridge.  But I too was asked once by my nurse if my gonal-f was over 30 days old.

I think if your DR says its fine, it is.  I would HATE for you to not be able to use it ;-/  Meds are SOOOOOOOO expensive!  Even w/ a copay!
