anyone pregnant with PCOS?

Anyone here pregnant and have PCOS?  If so, are you taking any extra precautions to avoid misscarriage?  I need advice.  I think I"m going to just call my doctor today and ask about it.

You won't have to take Metformin. Because this drug is one you have to wean on and off of it wouldn't be wise to start it up after becoming pregnant especially as the moment you are up to a nice, high dose you'd have to turn right back around and wean off of it.

I did take Progesterone while pregnant. Because PCOS is a hormonal issue I felt taking Progesterone would be beneficial and put my mind at ease. Sure enough my baby girl is turning 15-months old later this month. I also have two other daughters (ages 3 and 5) but I was diagnosed with PCOS after my second daughter's birth and didn't have PCOS symptoms before her birth. So I assume, especially due to how my case is not severe or very concerning at this point, that I didn't develop this problem until later. And finally I've had 2 miscarriages; one before my second daughter's birth and one after the PCOS diagnosis. My Progesterone was dropping while my HCG was climbing and finally my HCG plummeted as well.

I also want to mention that I took a Prenatal vitamin and Folic Acid.

Congrats!! I wish I could be one with postive news but my first pregnancy ended up in a mc.
However my dr. thinks it all has to do with the way it attached. Anyhow I hope for all of the best for you and I will be listening closely. I want to see a PCOSer with good news. Keep us all posted.

I am almost 7 weeks pregnant from IVF and I am taking progesterone, estrogen, prenatals, metformin, and baby asprin. I am also not doing anything but sitting on the couch and doing little things here and there to prevent misscarage. I have a sorta straining job so I even took the next few months off work. I paid so much for this and im not letting anything take it away from me. With pcos you do need to take it alittle easier than somone without it. Just sit down and relax and get some rest when you need it at least until your out of your first trimester. Good luck!

I just talked to my clinic, I was told that since I wasn't taking the Metformin during the time that I got pregnant, that I didn't need to take it now.  Doesn't seem right, but ok.

thank you for replying.  I'm currently 5 weeks pregnant and I'm not taking anything right now.  I put a call into my doctors office to find out if they want me to be taking the metformin or anything.

I am currently 22 weeks pregnant and have PCOS. I just worked with my dr to get my periods regular, and watch my sugar intake and weight. There is always a concern for miscarriage for anyone, but especially those of us that have had failed pregnancies before. Just work closely with a good doctor and have fun trying! :)

I have PCOS and I am pregnant for the second time .. First pregnancy ended with DS who is now 17 months old .. Now I am pregnant again . I am not taking any extra precautions.  I did IVF with both of them.. Am taking progesterone, estrogen, prenatals, metformin, and baby aspirin.  The metformin and baby aspirin is suppose to help with the miscarriage risk.
