Painful ovulation?

Does anyone else have pain when they ovulate? Before I had my son, I dont remember having the pain. Anyone get any answers from their dr? My OB can't tell me why I have it. I'm wondering if this is part of the reason i can't get pregnant naturally again? This month seems especially bad.

i have the same problem. i never felt any pain during ovulation until i miscarried in april. since then ive had it every month. only lasts one day. seems to be from about 3pm till 4am. but in that time i can hardly move the pain is so bad. i went to the doctors monday to see why ive never had it before and as im try for another baby if thats why im still not pregnant. he simply said some women have this problem and some dont. and big traumas such as birth and miscarriage can change the way you body works. doesnt mean anything is wrong. so im hoping pregnancy will come again soon, and till then im dreading the pain each month, but been given co codamol as i cant have anti inflamitries (escuse spelling) as i had my gall bladder removed. sorry to hear your all suffering to!

I never have had O pains until I went on clomid. Now I definitely know and feel it every month for about 2-4 days. It is extremely painful sometimes and feels like something is being ripped out of my stomach.

thanks for the info. I don't have ovarian cysts, that I know of on my own. Although when i use fertility meds, i do get them but the next cycle i'm off fertility meds, I don't get the cysts. My pain is that I feel sore in my uterus/ovary area but not stabbing more like a stomach  ache feeling but a littler lower than the stomach.  this pain usually lasts about 2 days.  it's just odd that i don't remember having this before having my son. Maybe I did have it and just don't remember?

Some people have no idea when they ovulate and others of us can tell every month.  I had a total vaginal hysterectomy three years ago after my son was born but prior to that it seems like I always felt ovulation.  I think it is possible that your inability to conceive could be related but not necessarily.  Although I felt like someone was stabbing my ovary with a knife each month, I didn't have any problems conceiving.  If the pain you have is due to multiple cysts on your ovaries, etc. then I would think it could possibly cause fertility problems.

Hi, I have painful ovulation. I hurt really bad in my lower back, lower stomach and I can definitely tell by the pain in my ovaries. They feel like they're going to burst and I'll tell my husband that it actually feels like I'm trying to squeeze a cantaloupe through a tooth pick for 2 days. I'm not sure what the reason is really. Some just have painful ovulation? I wished I knew myself. Unfortunately long story short I've been TTC for 6 plus yrs now. BUT on the 25th of June (this yr) I had surgery to remove a polyp in the middle of my uterus, a cyst on my fallopian tube and mild endometriosis.  I'm not saying this played a part in my ovulation pain because I've had a normal cycle this month and my ovulation day was the 8th of this month and it still hurt.   I wonder myself sometimes is this why I'm not getting pregnant as well. Although a fertility specialists did my surgery and I had an HSG test done,  he said everything was fine.  I'm sorry it's painful but you're not alone. I hope this helps. :)
