Prednisolone and IVF

This is my 4th attempt @ IVF (with ICSI). This time I was prescribed Prednisolone (a steroid) 10 mg twice daily, even though no tests have been done to rule in or out an autoimmune disease. My dr says that since I failed 3 times before, it might help. Does anyone have any experience with Prednisolone or any other steroid and a successful outcome?

I'm so sorry to hear about ur miscarriage. I can only imagine how devastating it must have been to finally conceive, only to lose the baby. But look on the positive side, at least you know that you can get pregnant. I have never been pregnant and I've been married for almost 10 years. Sometime I just want to see a positive pregnancy test to reassure me that we *can* get pregnant.
And you know that it's in God's infinite wisdom to have spared that embryo from developing into a life full of suffering. Since the chromosomes were not ideal, God decided to spare that poor baby and it's hopeful parents from the pain and suffering. So he took His little angel to join Him in heaven and I'm sure will reward u and ur husband with a HEALTHY bundle of joy soon. You will be in my prayers.
Have u talked to ur doc about PGA (preimplantation genetic analysis) of the embryos prior to transfer for next time?
My doc told me to continue on the prednisolone for 4 wks after I get a positive preg test, and then to taper off vvvvvvery sslloowwllyy. That will give my body enough time to make up my own steroids. Otherwise my body will reject the embryo. Could u have been taken off the steroids too abruptly ?

I took prednisone for my IVF but i insisted on it because i did test positive for antibodies. My dr said that it's not known if prednisone does actually work and it was up to me if i wanted to take it. I was prescribed 10mg 1x a day. i did get pregnant but miscarried 8 weeks later due to a chromosome abnormality. I have heard of RE's having prednisone as the standard prescription for IVF as well. good luck!
