Pregnancy after Endometrial Ablation

I am looking for more info on pregnancy after an endometrial ablation.  I had an ablation in May 2002.  January 2003 I was not feeling well and went to the family doctor.  She thought it may be an ectopic pregnancy since I was told I was sterile.  I had an ultrasound to discover it was an interuterine pregnancy and I was about 9 weeks.  I am now 17 weeks and for the past month trying to decide to terminate or continue.  I am having a very hard time finding any info on any one with this happening to them and the risks to me or my unborn child.  I have seen several doctors and none of them have ever heard of this happening and 2 have suggested termination.  I have an appointment with a high risk specialist on Thursday (02/27/03).  Please tell me where I can find more info or who to contact.  Thanks.

I am 43, had an ablation in July 2007 and found out today I am pregnant.  I am in shock and have no idea the risk or what I need to know about my situation.  Termination is not an option.  I have a 21, 16, and 11.  The last to we're conceive with infertility drugs,  I had an ectopic pregnancy after my 21 year old and my left tube is close from the that surgery.   I had to have a large hernia repair in 2003 and got a mini tummy tuck complements of the surgeon....these are just some of the issues running rampantly through my head at this moment.

Hello Mel, I too am one of the sucess stories on here. I am turning 40 this year (yikes) and I have a healthy 6 month old baby girl. When I found out I was scared out of my witts. I cried for 2 days then finally became happy as my boyfriend and I were haveing a baby together. I worried alot but after each Doctor's appointment it got a little better. My best advice to you is "Stay Positive" and do not over do it.
Take it one day at a time and rememebr things happen for a reason, apparently somone up there wanted you and your husband to have this pregnancy,
I hope your appointment goes well and everything works out for you. I used this site daily, there was not as much action as there is now but it was nice to talk to others that went through the same thing as what I was going through. I cried alot worrying and would turn to the site for some positive feedback.
I was told by my Gyno to abort, and I told him that it was not an option. If I was meant to have this baby then thats what I was going to do. I am SOOOOO GLAD I didnt follow his advice, my daughter Chloee is beautiful and the light in out eyes everyday... I posted pictures for all to see (they are not up todate but they are when she was born. Which reminds me to post a new one :)
Best of Luck to you on your journey!!!

Hi Mel, My post ablation baby is now 2 years old!  We found out we were pregnant when my children were 18, 16, 14, 11 years old...whew!  We laughed, then cried, then laughed again...it was sooo stressful the first few weeks.  Once we got the first appointment out of the way, we settled down.  I was afraid the docs would want me to terminate.  This forum was pretty young when I was pregnant and I found it late...so the info online was mostly scary.  Lots of support and SUCCESS here - not the easiest pregnancies, but definitely precious.  Blessings to you - hope your appointments go well!

So happy for you - you've made it so far!  :)  I would have loved to have skipped the c-section - but just to be safe, since you are shooting for the vaginal birth, ask your doc if the anesthesiologist will have blood on hand.  Its really important that they match your blood type and have it on stand by in case the placenta is stuck (undetected).  I hope all goes smoothly - can't wait to hear about your sweet baby!  Blessings to you and yours!

Hello. I had my 36 week appt today. After today, I get to start going in every week for the next three weeks. My induction date is still set for March 22.

Baby looks healthy. Her head is measuring pretty big, but that's something that runs in my family. I say it is b/c we have big brains, lol.

Doc is still okay with a VBac, but is prepared in case anything crazy happens at delivery time. As this time approaches, I am becoming more and more nervous. I want a magic 8 ball to tell me everything will be okay.

She is still transverse. We're keeping our fingers crossed that she will go head down by next week. Doctor is prepared to do an external version, but I would prefer for her to do it on her own. You'd think that with her big ol' noggin and gravity, she'd be in that position naturally....but nope, she's being a diva. I'll keep you guys posted.

Oh, I was also taken off of my anti-contraction meds today. I hope I can stay prego until my induction date b/c it is a long drive to the hospital and I'd rather just not have to deal with the panic of a fast labor and a long drive.

Hope everyone is doing well. I love reading all the stories and updates. This forum has been so helpful to me through all of this :)
