Pregnancy test after IVF

I had my transfer of 2 embryos 8 cells each on May 8th.  My blood test is this Friday May 22nd. I have been under the progesterone shot everyday, estradiol pills, baby aspirin, prenatal vitamin every day and  I have been pretty positive and doing everything to avoid those home testings but today I feel like I really need to get one of those pregnacy tests.  My transfer was 12 days ago counting today, would it be safe to go through one of those tests?  Last week I had some cramping, tender breast, felt bloated, urinating a lot, couldnt sleep well but most of all symptoms are almost gone now. I am hoping for the best, this is my first IVF, I am only 35 and had amenorrhea for 9 months, we needed to use donor eggs.  I also would like to know if the embryos dont attach which would be the symptoms?  Would that imply some bleeding?  Should I wait two more days or go ahead with the home pregnancy test?  Please some advice!!!!

It's so hard to rely on symptoms - I know during my tww, my symptoms almost entirely disappeared the 2nd week - I was totally convinced I wasn't pregnant (I was wrong).  Good luck today!!! - jen

Oh thanks, Babyblue,   I am so nervous, I hope for the best, tomorrow is a big day, I will keep you posted and I prefered not to do the HPT. I trust everything is going to be ok and congratulations to you, take good care during your pregnancy!

Try to relax yourself and wait for this friday... You could do a HPT but due to all the meds you took, could give you a false result....

I noticed on thing that all the symtoms could be gone but the breast tender and sore can't go away....it's getting worst when you are pregnant.

Good luck to you and don't forget update your blood work result....
