Pregnant when both are sick-help!!!

Hi,

I'm 37, been TTC for 1.5 year.  Just found out that I'm 5 weeks pregnant.  Both my husband and I were sick when I conceived. My husband ran a fever the day before my ovulation.  And he took fever and cold and cough medicine. I have been coughing a week before ovulation and still coughing now.  I have taking amoxicillin and cough medicine until 1 week after ovulation.  I didn't expect I will get pregnant.  Now, I'm worry about my husband's sperm quality, and my egg quality.  Will it cause birth defect?  Please give me your advice.  Thank you!

Please relax, you are thinking silly thoughts.  Everything will be fine. Have you gone to Dr yet?

Amoxicillin is what they give you when you're pregnant if you need it, and many cold medicines are fine during pregnancy.  Plus, at one week past ovulation the egg is just implanting, and hasn't even started to really grow much yet.  Not to worry!

Baby is just fine...  The meds and illness will have no effect.  The combo will not cause a birth defect.
