Provera

My doctoe has recently prescribed Provera to kick start my periods. I am worried about taking it though as have heard some horror stories about it. Is it safe? What can i expect from it?

Husband and I trying to conceive. Stopped taking my pill in Dec 07.

I have taken Provera for two cycles.  I got my period the week after I took it.  It lasted for about 5 days. I didn't have any bad side effects or anything.  The doctor told me that it is a mild way to kick start your periods.

I am taking provera for the 2nd month.  The only thing different I've noticed is that it made my cramps worse and my period heavier.  Maybe that's just me though...since Wendy813 said hers was shorter.

I have taken it the last 7 cyles to start AF.  I worry about taking it so much but it seems fine and my dr says it is ok. AF is usually shorter for me. Only 2 days.  Usually 5 without taking it.  I start about 2 days after finishing it.
