Implantation bleeding?

Ok my last period was 2/5 and af is due 3/4.
On 2/23 I woke up to what I would say was more than spotting. Not pinkish or brownish but red. This lasted 3-4 days only filling maybe a tampon a day. Then it stopped. Now today 2/28 I have a brown (old blood) spotting.
Was thinking either early af or implantation bleeding. Took a hpt this morning and got a bfn, however I am still 4 days away from starting.
Is it possible to have red blood bleeding during implantation?  I read more about light pink or brown.  I wonder if this is early period since the end of af is always a brownish for me...or if its implantation because I usually have a heavy 4 day flow?
Anyone?

See if you miss your cycle on Monday and then take a test. About 20% of women notice implantation bleeding. Keep in mind that each pregnancy is different, so even though you may not have experienced implantation bleeding before, doesn't mean that you won't ever expereince it.
Good luck!

But my bleeding was 9 days before af is expected. I have 4 children and never once had implantation spotting?  Guess I have to just wait and see if I miss on Monday :/

Definitely possible. I had what I thought was a normal, 4 day, regular af when I was pregnant. It came pretty much exactly when my regular af was supposed to come. My dr didn't seem that suprised, he just thought it would be lighter than normal. I didn't even know I was pregnant until the next month when I didnt have af and then got a positive hpt
