Should I go to the doctor or try to be patient?!

In November 2011 I came off the mini pill to try for our first child. New Years eve I got my BFP. The pregnancy was completely normal other than having extreme hyperemesis.
At the 12 week scan they found 4cm x 4cm x 6cm cysts on both my ovaries. They decided that the cysts would have to be removed once the baby was born.
In February 2013 I had laparoscopy surgery to remove both cysts. I was told the operation was successful and that they had managed to retain most of my ovaries.
September 2013 I stopped taking the mini pill as I bled for 6 weeks continuosly. I never had any spotting in the 7 years prior to this whilst taking the mini pill.
Since January 2014 we've been TTC with no luck. My periods have gone from very predictable 28 day cycles to anything between 34  -59 days!!
I have been charting my BBT since April and doing OPK's which suggest that I am ovulating. We have sex every other day 5 days before I am due to ovulate and on the day I actually ovulate. I know 6 months isn't very long to be TTC but in the back of my mind I can't help but think that the laparoscopy may have done something, especially where we fell pregnant so quick the first time. I've never had irregular periods until now. After the laparoscopy I was still on the mini pill so it wasn't until I had the 6 week period 7 months after the operation that I realised something might be wrong.
I'm 29 and the doctors have told me to TTC for 9 months before they will do any investigations. So that is another 3 months.
So should I just wait another 3 months? Or go with my instincts and go now? Although they will probably just turn me away.
Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you for your advice. I think I will wait as its not much longer and also as ITS really don't want to hear bad news, if it is bad news that is x

So sorry that you haven't been able to conceive again. If it were me I would let the three months pass. Who knows what will happen in 3 months.I know it may be hard but your periods may correct themselves. Luck on the bright side most have to wait 12 months vs your 9.   Good luck to you &I hhope you fall pregnant soon :)
