So confused

Recently I underwent Invitrofertilization. They retrieved 6 Mature eggs. All fertilized very well i was told. Then the day of transplant I was told all but two did not continue to fertilize. I did not have a positive pregnancy test. In my last meeting with my Doctor he said he was confused about why I would have such a low egg count. ( Our reson for IVF was low sperm count and endometriosis , which had been scoped) I am 28, never smoked, no alcohol, average in height and weight, no family history of infertility. And he says " i can't figure it out but it must be genetic and I think you need an egg donor" How does that make sense at all? He didnt even ask me about my families fertility! Im so confused as to what could have caused this problem.

There are only two things I can possibly think of - (1) we bought unused follistem off someone at the clinic and it was expiring that month. (2) I do have a bit of insulin resistance and after reading " The Fertility Diet" which shows solutions to ovulatory infertility, maybe that contributes.

Im just so frustrated that my Doctor gave up so quickly.

Has anyone had any similar experiences/ advice? What do you think? Help me resolve my feelings please.

I agree, get a second opinion. Don't give up so easily. Why would he suggest a donor? You had a good egg count. Keep the faith!

So sorry you are going through this.  Please do not give up at all.  Was this your 1st IVF?  Also, have you gotten a second opinion from another doctor?  If not, I would recommend you do because that's what I did and I was pleased with my second doctor, resulting in a pregnancy!  You are young, healthy and you don't have any family history of infertility so this doesn't make sense at all.  Good luck and remember there is always hope!
