Low Betas

HI,
My husband and I have done four IVF's with our own egg and sperm with no success.  We did have one pregnancy achieved naturally which resulted in miscarriage.  Recently, we underwent an IVF cycle with donor eggs that resulted in in a six day transfer of two embryos last Monday. Pregnancy test was yesterday.  Positive but only 20.  Go back tomorrow for u/s to evaluate lining and for more bloodwork.  My doctor is very concerned and naturally so are we.  Any thoughts

I know it is so much more easily said than done but please try not to worry. My RE said the initial number is not so important, but rather if it doubles in time.  My RE said anything over 5 is pregnant so congrats!  Let us know what your next beta shows.  Good luck!

I agree - your test was done very early in the 10 day wait.  I did a donor cycle too and they did the beta at 10dpt so I would think that this number has something to do w/this being so early in the wait.  Ugh, I hate that wait!  Best of luck to you and I hope you get your BFP! - jen

Although 20 is a bit low, the number has to start somewhere, so try to stay positive and hopefully it will double by your next blood test. Also, your test was done pretty early at only 8 days past transfer. Mine was not done until 10 days after. So that could have something to do with it too. Best of luck!
