large follicles whilst on clomid

Hi, im new to this site, so hope i am posting this in the right place. I am currently CD 16 of my second cylce using clomid. I have been put on clomid 100mg. Last month i produced 1 follicle that reached 26mm, but no luck! I have had scan today and i have 3 very large follicles 1 at 40mm and 2 at 34mm. Has anybody else had follicles this large on clomid? is this a promising or negative thing? i called my Dr to ask, and she said that its all great and to keep trying as they should release soon. It just seems very large to me. Anyone else had this situation?

Thanks for your responses, think the follicles may have realsed today now, as pains have gone. I didn't have intercourse yesterday though as had a lot of pain, do you think I could still get pregnant from the intercourse from the two days before? Or do you think I have missed my chance this month as we didn't have intercourse yesterday and I have ovulated today? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Those are very large follies.My doctor while on clomid did not want to see my follies grow more than 23-26mm.   You must be rather uncomfortable.  Hopefully they will release soon.

It sounds very good! I'm new to here too but after reading a zillion sites ect on everything from fertility to clomid to follicles, etc. it sounds promissing. I'm on my first round of clomid too and on day 13 mine were 24mm and 26mm. I ovulated on day 16 i think and that would mean they would have grown a bit more. Did you have sharp pains during that day or the day after? It was almost like i could feel them grow inside of me. I still am getting hot flashes even though i'm 3 or 4 dpo.

my dr put me on clomid but never checked my follicles so I am not sure...it sounds good though....

Hi there. You are in the right place. Wow that sounds big. I've had some 12,13, and 14 follicles on CD 10  that my doc said release at about 20-22??? I think that was the size. I do not have experience with anything larger. Maybe another woman here will. Good luck.
