Two weeks late negative HPT

My husband and I have been trying for a baby, and I am now 2 weeks late and have been taking HPT at 3day intervals all of them coming back negative. I am normally fairly regular. I have been having a weird cramping sensation, which makes me think I'm about to have my period, but still nothing. I work full time, so difficult to get the time off for doc appointment, plus I dont want to waste the docs time if I am just late but not preg. Very confusing. Has anyone had similar situation? What was the conclusion? Preg or not preg?

Hi i was reading ure comments as i am 2 weeks late, hpt done twice was negative, and urine test at doc was neg. The doc told me to wait untill my next period is due and if it doesnt come will do further testz. But ill prob do another hpt in a week. How did u end up going at the doc?

Hi Erica,

Just saw your post now, to answer your question, the doctors discovered that one of my hormones was elevated, and it was blocking my insulin from working, which in turn was stopping me from ovulating. Thus the reason I was having no periods. My body was actually not even releasing eggs, so there was nothing to fall pregnant with. The Metformin blocked the hormone that was blocking my insulin, which was stopping me from ovulating. So my periods started up again. I am still in Metformin now, even though I have fallen pregnant to keep my insulin levelsin check. It took six months of dedicated Metformin, did not miss a pill, till I fell pregnant. It is possible, and I did it without infertility treatment. You just need a doctor who is willing to investigate.

stress can cause a delay as well especially when you are expecting something and hopes are high. Keep track of your cycles and how long they last, they sell OTC ovulation test and follow directions precise. Keep trying, lie on your back in missionary position, if you are trying to conieve, after he ejaculates elevate your hips and lift your legs towards ceiling, some males dont ejaculate as others and who is to tell, it will happen when you least expect it, I actually got my wife preggo when she was on her period and she was told she cant have kids, i have a very high sperm count and miracles happen. in fact doctors are just smart and educated, in reality its all in gods hands. Keep me posted

hi, have been reading your posts, congrats!!, i'm in the same boat that you were in. i don't have my periods at all, last one was april 2005. i'm 36 and my hubby and i want to have a baby soo bad, i have for a very long time and dont wanna wait any longer. i want to possibly try meds before i go through ivf since very expensive. with your experience do you have any sugg for me? frustraded and don't know what to do...

Just wanted to let you guys know, after months and months of trying, having been diagnosed with PCOS and been on Metformin for the last four months... I finally got my first BFP lastnight!! Can't believe it! So over joyed! Checked again this morning just to make sure, and got another BFP this morning! Thanks for your support and advice, it's been a rocky road, and still many obstacles ahead, but for the moment I am just going to enjoy the feeling of looking at that little test telling me I'm pregnant! :-)

I've been diagnosed with PCOS and have been on Metformin for a month now and just had my first period in five months, so it definitely works. No weight loss though. Had a bit of a reaction when I first started it, but once my body settled into it, it was fine. DH and I have been trying since Feb this year with no luck, when period disappeared, we first thought it was successful and we were preggers, but of course neg HPT, then went to docs, after many many tests, finally was diagnosed with PCOS, then was given Metformin, and finally I am having my first period in five months! Fingers crossed it continues to work, and we will finally get our pos HPT!

AF Finally arrived! Thank heavens for that. At least once it is finished dh and I can start ttc again...

Still no AF...although had some more spotting today which means that it might be on it's way. Not that I'm happy it is, just happy there might be a conclusion finally to this long wait...three and a half weeks late now...

You should order some vitex, it helps regulate cycles.  Hope af arrives so you can start ttc again soon!

I've resigned myself to the fact that it is just a super long cycle. I'm not going to buy any more tests this week. Hopefully that will make AF come....

CD48 today....still no AF....

Might get some more HPT tonight after work and do another test....

Although I'm sure I will still get BFN.... :-(

Maybe book another doc appointment, although they can't seem to figure out what's wrong with me. Never been this late before...

Me and my husband have been trying for a year and seven months and we have had no luck even with clomid. I was 5 days late on my period and i was so happy but it came. Hang in their our luck will come soon.

Thanks, phoned the doc today and finally got my results... They were negative. :-(

So confused, still no sign of AF, except had that tiny bit of spotting yesterday...

Don't know what to think, blood test was taken last Wednesday...

Possibly...still no sign of AF today. Should get blood results tomorrow. Think I might book another doc appointment if the results come back negative. As three weeks late after ttc makes me worry. With BFN, I just need to know what's causing me to be so late....

Nope, 30 should keep you regular with normal cycles.  Well, I am still hoping you get a bfp, maybe you just ovulated later than you though?
