when right time comes , it will be alright i hope...
Thank you so much for replying dear ...
and congrats again ...
We too were diagnosed with unexplained infertility and did 2 rounds of Clomid/Trigger and IUI and conceived our daughter on the 2nd IUI. We are currently trying for #2 and just completed our third IUI. We are in the mystery category which is very frustrating. Our RE said if we're not pregnant this month then he recs IVF which is a huge step. I started doing acpuncture and I really think that helped me conceive my daughter. Stay positive and it'll happen!!!
Hi,
THanks so much. This cycle was not much different compared to the previous 2.
I have been using progesterone support after IUI.
I have been taking baby aspirin.
I had become more regular about my exercise (been jogging 3 x a week for a month before the last IUI).
Think it may just take time.
Just noticed your updates in your profile .. COngrats soo much dear ... Please do post what ypu did different in your cycle to acheive the success..
thank you so much everyone . i think taking a break for some time , might help ... looking back at the two years ( my wedding was 2 years ago) , i was always busy with something or the other , soemtimes my work , sometimes my higher studies ,soemtimes and always something something else ...I used to take up lot of work , other than my full time offcie job , to make some extra income ,.. Now i have decide to stop everything .. and enjoy my life ... We never even went for a honeymoon trip ... I actually realized all these after a counseling session by my Doctor . She is a good doctor , but i dont want to go for IVF , i know god can make it possible for me without an IVF ...(pleaseee god !!!!) ... but at last .. these are all our wish , god knows our destiny ...
I defnitly would take a second opinion before moving on to next treatments ....
ttc30 ... very happy news .. congrats dear ... but I can't really afford IVF .. :(
I too have unexplained infertility. We did all the tests we could and all of them turned out to be normal.I had 4 IUI's with clomid but failed. After that we decided to go for IVF and now i am 7 weeks pregnant .
I know, it hurts a lot when you heard about unexplained infertility..it is the most frustrating
thing in our lives..
Have you seen another doctor for second opinion?? if not, I think you should see another dr. and ask for opinion.
Because, I was being told the same thing and IVF is the best option for me.
My 1st cycle was failed and 2nd was unsuccessful..Unfortunately, my ins. does not have coverage this time and I need to pay out of my pocket.
And, recently I saw reveiws about my RE saying he is not at all good..he does not care about anybody's life..he only needs money..
So, my dear before starting next treatment see another dr. may be it can save your life/money..
good luck!!!!!
I've done some reading. Another possibility is to try going gluten free. Apparently it can cause infertility in some. I am going to go gluten free for my next cycles and see if it helps.
Welcome to the community. I too have "unexplained infertility" and it *****. All of our tests have been normal. We did 3 months with just clomid with BFN's so my OBGYN sent us to Shady Grove. We have did 2 iui's using injectables (bravelle and then bravelle and menopur) both BFN, moved on to IVF transfered 2 embies, BFP on first round but miscarried at 7wks, 2nd IVF transfered 2 - BFN, 3rd IVF attempted but changed to iui because I had 1 lead follie (didn't want to waste my last IVF attempt on it) = BFN. We have taken a little break for me to lose some weight to see if that may help us.
I think having unexplained is the hardest and so frustrating. For me, it would be much easier (not that any of this is easy) if we knew why I was having problems. DH and I have been ttc since 02/2009. Now my RE says that I have poor ovarian response, since I only produced 5 eggs the first IVF and 4 eggs the 2nd time. So he is only giving me a 30% chance of concieving with my own eggs. 50% if we go with donor eggs, but DH doesn't want to go that route.
We are hoping that with me losing some weight and trying a different protocol (estrogen priming) we will have better luck when we start back up. I hope you find some answers and the support you need here. I know I probably would have given up along time ago if it wasn't for the ladies on here.
Good luck on your journey. SSBD!!!
I was marked as unexplained fertility as well. My husband and I both tested fine, no problems were found. We went through several rounds of IUI w/clomid and trigger with no success. I responded well and had good follies but still BFN each time. We did not want to go the IVF route but after so many tests, multiple failed attempts, no explanation, lots of money, and a second opinion, we finally opted for IVF. Had success on first attempt; Annabelle is 4 months old.
Like mentioned above, I agree that it would have been easier to know what was wrong and focus on that. Apparently unexplained fertility is fairly common... and incredibly frustrating. Hope you find success soon.
1.) I lost 30 pounds
2.) Got on 1500mgs of Metformin
3.) Took 6 months off from fertility treatments (just naturally)
We had a miscarriage December of 2009 and it was devastating. Three years of actively TTC and fertility treatments just to be teased with 9 weeks of pregnancy was something I would never wish on anyone. After going through that we took a few months off and then in July 2010 did a clomid/IUI cycle that failed. We decided to change the way that we ate. We took our 5 year old to Disney World and focused on our marriage and family. After that 6 months off we decided to basically start over in February 2011. We'd done several injectable cycles as well as numerous femara and clomid cycles in the past, but I wanted to begin again. I was having regular periods on the metformin and knew that I was ovulating on my own. So, we did 100mg of clomid, trigger shot and IUI. I am almost 18 weeks pregnant!
The news of "unexplained infertility" is awful. I can't tell you how many times I wished my husband had sperm issues or that I had a blocked tube. Nothing, though. I don't know if what we did helped me get pregnant. I was shocked when we had a positive pregnancy test, and still every day have a hard time believing that there's a little baby boy growing inside me! I don't know that I'll ever get over that.
It's very possible that there are actually no problems with you. One thing that I did in my miscarriage cycle and this cycle was start taking progesterone a few days after ovulation. My progesterone was low in my miscarriage cycle. This pregnancy it was never an issue, but for my own peace of mind I took it until 12 weeks. Perhaps that would help.
The only other thing that helped me keep going was knowing that I was still young. Keep pressing forward, and take a few months off just to have fun again. Hope this helps!
