Vagifem to support fertility treatment- worries about cancer risk?

I have been prescribed 2x daily Vagifem tablets as  part of a fertility treatment with Clomid. I have been told that should I fall pregnant I would have to continue this treatment for 6 further weeks (~8 weeks treatment with Vagifem in total).

I am very concerned about the cancer risks associated with Vagifem in particular due to the fact that I will be taking such a high dose (I read that menopausal women- whom this treatment is normally indicated for would only take one tablet a day for two weeks and then three tablets per week subsequently).

My doctor has dismissed my concerns due to the short duration of the treatment, however I have calculated that 8 weeks of treatment with my prescribed dose of Vagifem actually equates to 4.5 months of treatment under a normal/recommended dose, so I am not 100% whether this qualifies as a short duration.

I would be very grateful for any insights/help!
