I'm having the same issue. I get my period every month but I dint ovulate every month its a hit and miss, it's so frustrating. But something I have found helpful are ovulation tests. You can buy them anywhere for pretty cheap and they tell you when your ovulating! So helpful:)

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello and hope you are doing well.
You should seek the opinion of an infertility expert and get investigated. You and your husband both need evaluation .The common causes of infertility are blocked tubes, ovulation dysfunction, hyperprolactinemia, thyroid disorders, PID etc.Sperm motility disorders and decreased sperm count are male causes of infertility. The chances of conception are high during ovulation. Maintain a healthy lifestyle. You should take a balanced and nutritious diet. Take a balanced diet rich in all these vitamins and minerals. Exercise daily and reduce weight if you are overweight. Get a prenatal checkup done and ask your doctor about prenatal vitamins like folic acid. Stay away from stress and exercise daily. Treatment will depend on the underlying cause. Hope it helps.
Best luck and regards!
