Has anyone ever had this??

I found out on 4/13 that I am pregnant. Beta's went from 16, 44, 131. The day after my last beta I having a brown discharge, then turned to pink. Went to the ER because I was scared. I had a m/c in 2006. The dr said  that I was slightly opened and my pelvic exam was abnormal. He did blood work and it went from 131 to 188, so that was a plus. He told me to stay on bed rest till I see my RE. I had my first u/s today and he couldn't see anything. So he did another beta, and checked my blood type. He said that if my beta is still going up I am going to have to have a procedure where they vacuum some tissue out of the uterus and test it to see if there is a pregnancy in there. What is this vacuum thing, and if there is a pregnancy in there will it hurt it? He also said that if it comes back to be that there isn't a pregnancy there, then I have a tubal? I have never had a tubal so I don't know what I should be feeling. I am not in any pain, just keep spotting from brown to pink.If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

Well, if the #'s went from 131-188 just a day that's not bad. I'd be concerned with you being (open) and what is an abnormal pelvic exam? I'm anxious for you! I would make an appt. w/your RE asap.  I think sometimes ER's jump to conclusions. It's too early to see anything on u/s. Good luck!!

I think the vacuum thing is a D N C.  If a miscarriage doesn't come out on it's own that is how they get it out.  I think it is the same thing as an abortion.  I know the word abortion sounds terrible, but if it isn't a viable pg, that is how they get it out.

I had an ectopic but that is not how they diagnosed it.  They monitored my hcg and did ultrasounds. My hcg went up, but slowly.  At 6wks pg when the hcg was still low and nothing could be found in the uterus (via ultrasound), they diagnosed me as ectopic and we started treatment.  Treatment was a double shot of methotrexate.  For me the treatment did not work and two weeks later they had to surgically remove the ectopic pg (along with my tube).  Often they will not see the pg in the tube but since they don't see anything in the uterus and the hcg is slowly rising, they conclude it is an ectopic.

best of luck to you.. feel free to ask me any questions you might have.
