how many embryos??

i have fallopian tube issues, so far my RE hasn't found anything else being a problem. i go to have an SSH done tomorrow and we'll know for sure if i'm going to be able to move foward with IVF... im curious to know how many embryos most women going through with IVF have placed in them? i would like to have 2 placed inside for a better chance that it will succeed. is it common to have 2 put in @ a time?

I had 2 embryos and only one took. I think 2 is a good number.

Hi, I have a blocked fallopian tube and did IVF last June, we put in 2 embryos and only 1 took so I highly recommend putting in 2 just in case :O) My RE only wanted us to put in 1 because of our age (we are 29) and the quality was pretty good but I insisted on 2 (good thing)... We plan on doing it again next year and I will put in 2 again... Good luck!!!

Considering your age and general health, I bet your doctor would only recommend ONE as long as it is good enough quality. When I did my transfer, I was told that transferring TWO A+ quality embryos would only increase my risk of multiples, not the general chances of success. With that quality embryo, my age and general health, though, my chances were as good as it ever gets, which is 62%, and it worked! I'm soooo glad I went with ONE!

depending on age (if you are over 35)  yes, I think two is common.
