I am trying really hard to stay positive with 18 months of trying, 6 failed IUIs (3 medicated cycles) and now one failed IVF/ICSI try..... soooooooooo, how many attempts at IVF will I need to get a BFP? Anyone else out there feeling hopeless and down?? Send me your positive success stories of IVF.  I need some baby dust and hope... Thanks :)

i know how you feel my dh and i have been trying for just over 4 years, i have pcos and dh has poor sperm mopility and morphology. so far we tried for a year then nothing then clomid and fell pregnant and miscarried, then we tried clomid for another 6 months, after that i had weight loss surgury and started ivf so far we have had 2 stim cycles, and 3 frozen cycles with no success, We have decided to take a month off to try and concieve natrally with accupuncture, so hopefully that works if not just got to try and try again.

Fully understand how you feel.  I feel the same way.  I wish I could tell you something that would make you feel better but I haven't got anything... I'm about to start my 4th IVF and I can't help wondering WHY this isn't working for us.  We thought it would be so easy because the only issue is that DH had a vasectomy 20 years ago and the reversal didn't work (which we knew there was a good chance that it wouldn't).
The first two tries, I had roughly 30 follicles.  We ended up with 5 Type-1, 8-cell embryos the first time and 6 the second and transferred the lot.  Then I switched to another doctor who doesn't believe in stimulating to that extent and I had 14 follicles and ended up with 3 Type-1, 8-cell embryos and we transferred the three but still nothing.  For all three treies, I was told that we had "excellent" embryos and that my endometrium was "perfect" and that my blood tests were "excellent" and I can't stop wondering why the f*** nothing's working if everything is so "excellent" and "perfect"
In the end, we have to just accept that it takes some longer than others.  I mean, they do say that the average number of tries for a BFP with IVF is 3... clearly some people get it the first time but being an average, that means it takes others 5 and 6 and 7 times or more.
I hope you start feeling better and I hope you get what your BFP soon.  I know it's hard.  I've been a bit of a mess myself the last couple of weeks,
Good luck.
