advice about helping IUI work

Hi-

My DH and I have unexplained infertility. After trying almost a year, our doctor recommended 50 mg of Clomid + IUI. I am starting Clomid tomorrow. when I asked my doctor if there was anything I could do - to eat, restrict exercise, etc. - to help get pregnant, he said that I should follow my normal routine and try not to think about it. Easier said than done! Does anyone have any advice on helping IUI work - not exercising, etc.?

Thanks and good luck to all!

-Shannon

Yes Bny is right, you should not think if it nay not happen, take it easy,,
even i was like you, keep on posting can i do yoga and everything like you,,but listened many of the RE's and Gynaec advices to be careful once after getting BFP:), they think the fertilised egg will so small to view even with sonography, that hardly catches any trouble than the fetus advancing that can be felt,,So stay positive,,No pineapples, no chickens, no sesame, two cups of coffee will be ok,if not able to quit, jus we can drink half a cup, no alchohol and no smoking,,healthy thing s to follwo,,take folic acid,,more oranges,,
Good luck,,,

I got my first IUI on Feb 18th. and AF is due tomorrow and I'm pretty sure it didn't work. And I was on 50 mg of clomid too. And I produced two follicles.  I hope it works for you. And there is nothing you can really do in the 2ww besides worry. Best of luck to you.

Hello! wanted to wish you lots of luck and prayers! IUI does the trick for so many people! defintely easier said than done to not think about it!!   They have done studies that show eating a lower carb diet can help with fertility - eat lots of omegas - salmon, almonds, 2% milk instead of skim milk has also been shown  to help fertility for some reason.. as far as exercise.. i am not sure if it matters either way.. i always take it a little easier in the tww - not running or anything high impact.. and decrease caffine during the tww as well! GOOD LUCK!
