IVF Worries

Dh and I decided to start the IVF journey. We have had 3 IUI's all failed, diagnosed w/unexplained infertility. Used clomid 50mg once and our doc recommends IVF now. So we had a consult and decided to try it. DH and I are both 26yrs old, healthy etc. Today the doc performed a "trial transfer" using a catheter and some saline solution and a trans vag ultrasound he wanted to check out all my componenets before moving along and scheduling our "learn how to inject drugs class". Anyways my questions are endless but the one that is nagging me most is that right now I am ovulating, and today the doc pumped me up w/saline solution and dh and I bd all last night and night before, does that saline hurt my chances of ttc this month? ? ? It was up in my cervix and all flowed out after and i am just worried. I guess I was hopeful that one more try before starting IVF and we might just get lucky. I am terrified to start IVF. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I think all RE's perform a trial transfer, I know mine did. And the main reason for that is to see where the cervix is, and the specifics of the uterus and how difficult it is to get the catheter in the right area.
With my trial run, my RE discovered my uterus is tilted and that it goes to the right. The more they know about the 'position' of things, the less poking they have to do at time of transfer resulting in less cramping of the uterus

thank you, I am going to take your advice and bd tonight too:) Did your RE perform a trial transfer? Or have you ever heard of that being done before?

Hmmm! Good question... I'm not sure if the saline solution would affect the little swimmer up there or not, but I don't think it would have an affect on the egg at this stage (since you're just now ovulating). I would probably BD again tonight or tomorrow morning...just to add a new supply of swimmers up there; and hopefully it will be perfect timing and you'll get your BFP before heading to IVF! Best of luck!!!
