how round is 7.6 ovarian cysts
I was just told today that I have a demoid cyst that is on my right ovary 7.5. I am very worried about surgery and recovery time. Can it just "go away" the doctor seemed to think no. I teach group fitness classes and move and jump alot will this cause it to twist around my tubes?? A bit scared ..but I would really love to avoid surgery!
thank you very much for your replies. i will ask my doctor to check if i have endometriosis. your advices and suggestions have provided me with great awareness. now i am prepared to put queries to my gyaenecologist.
I will keep you people posted.
God bless u all.
I agree with everyone else. I was told that ovarian cancer is extremely rare in younger women - it mostly affects menopausal women. I've had many cysts. I have other issues, but I was never told that the cysts themselves would affect my fertility. The cyst will probably go away on it's own, or they may put on you the birth control pill to make it shrink. I've had cysts as large as 10cm, and did not need surgery to remove them. They did consider surgery for the 10cm one, but it went away first. You just need to make sure you don't do heavy lifting or move around to much very quickly, because that can cause your ovary to twist your fallopian tube and that is bad.
The cyst itself could be messing with your hormones so once it goes away you may be able to conceive. Hang in there - I'm sure everything will work out.
Hello
Sorry to hear about the cyst it does sound like your CA 125 is slightly elevated but that is also due to the ovarian cyst. I had an ovarian cyst about a month ago and they placed me on birth control pills which i would not consider due to it messing up your cycle but also the cyst can sometimes goes away by itseld after you usually get your period but that all do determined the size. But as for the elevated results i would agree with OzBron about the endometriosis. They can do a laparatomy and check to see if you do have it but an ovarian cysts can't greatly effect your fertility ; but i'm not a doctor and have been ttc for a yr with 2 miscarriage and i can't find out whats wrong so i will say ask the doctors about the Endo and hope they will check you for it and hope all is well. Goodluck with ttc and SSBD to you and DH.
I am sorry that you are going through this. You may like to post on the Ovarian Cyst forum and there will be many more people in similar situations that can give you advice. Also on the Ovarian cyst forum, there is a Health page that discusses different types of cysts and common treatment that may be helpful.
Ovarian Cancer is actually quite rare and only 1% of cysts turn out to be malignant cancers. So you should look at this and feel confident that you will be in the 99% with a benign condition that will be easily resolved.
The CA125 is slightly elevated and is in the range that is common for people with endometriosis. Do you have endometriosis? If you do, it is common to have endometriomas where you have cysts filled with endometriosis type material. The CA125 marker is actually not a good indicator for ovarian cancer in young women that are not in menapause. It can increase due to periods and ovulation.
Your best bet is to review some of the information on the cyst forum so that you have good questions ready to take to your doctor. Get this cyst taken care of and then perhaps start discussing fertility assessment with your doctor. An ovarian cyst by itself will not impact your fertility.
Best of luck.
