cyst prevent ovulation?

I am wondering if having an ovarian cyst will prevent ovulation. I've had a lot of RLQ pain the last 2 days so I am wondering if it could be because I have another cyst. I am scared that it could be another ectopic or appendicitis. I won't get my lab results until tomorrow (hcg and wbc count). I don't remember this much localized pain with the ectopic 5 yrs ago. I am CD 10.

I am relieved to know it's not an ectopic, and I didn't have an elevated WBC, the pain has diminished and i have some tingling in mt lateral ankle so I believe it is just another cyst that is leaking. I have an u/s scheduled for the 13th.

Yes, an ovarian cyst can prevent ovulation, but I don't know if it always does.

I had a really weird time earlier this year: My RE found a functional cyst on my right ovary last May.  He was not concerned and said it it is common and will resolve by itself within a month or two.

I had breakthrough bleeding mid-month, then no AF for about 75 days!  I was so stressed about it.  I didn't ovulate then my RE found I had ovulated the first weekend in July. Two weeks later I got my AF.
